Major-General Robert Cawthome () was an Australian-born British Army general officer, later serving in the Pakistan Army. Cawthome...".〔 At the end of December 1952, Major-General Cawthome, Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), sent a priority report to Commander Syed Mohammad Ahsan (Pakistan Navy), and asked for a detailed reaction from Pakistan Armed Forces personnel on the basic principles of the ISI. Cawthome remains the longest-serving director general of the ISI, serving in the position from 1950 to 1959.
